Many developing countries, including Pakistan, struggle to deliver high-quality healthcare to their citizens. A significant hurdle is the limited availability of reliable and accurate medical information, especially in remote areas. This lack of information can result in misdiagnoses, and incorrect treatments, resulting in poor health outcomes for patients. To address this challenge, the Aga Khan University's Department of Medicine and the dHRC developed ComBact, an application to support medical drug prescriptions.
The application includes a comprehensive guide that allows the user to cross-check conditions with corresponding symptoms, tests, Blood Culture Report (BCR) strains, and alternative treatment options, including supportive treatment. The step-by-step guide provided by ComBact can assist physicians in making well-informed decisions in hospitals and clinical areas.
The COMBACT app was developed for a project supported by The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Education & Research Foundation (SHEA Foundation).
